Terms & Conditions

Legal Entity: Peake Compost is a trade name of Wallace & Sons LLC and Peake Compost is the service provider under this Agreement. This contract becomes effective upon signup and remains valid on a month-to-month basis until written cancellation is provided in accordance with these Terms & Conditions. This Agreement is governed by and construed under the laws of the State of Maryland.

Scope of Services: Peake Compost is a subscription-based food scrap collection service. Service includes the delivery of one or more compost collection buckets, regular collection of accepted compostable materials, and the exchange of full buckets for clean buckets at each pickup. Collected materials are transported for composting. Members receive a portion of the finished compost each spring. Buckets are provided as part of service, but remain Peake Compost property. If your bucket is lost or damaged, you will be charged the restocking fee for the bucket, lid, and shipping for a replacement ($40 for 7 gallon buckets and $120 for 35 gallon cans).

Payment: Recurring monthly payments are required for all services and must be made via ACH authorization with a bank account using the form provided during onboarding. By enrolling, members authorize Wallace & Sons LLC d/b/a Peake Compost to initiate recurring electronic debits for applicable service fees. Payments continue automatically until service is properly canceled. No refunds or credits are issued for partial billing periods, missed pickups, or unused services. Billing continues during unavoidable service interruptions, including but not limited to severe weather, holidays, or emergencies. Peake Compost reserves the right to suspend service for nonpayment, repeated failed payments, or repeated contamination.

Service Modifications & Cancellations: There is a two month minimum service term. Members have the ability to upgrade/downgrade plans, add buckets, and change service address, which will take effect the next billing cycle. Members may cancel service at any time by email with "Cancellation - service address" and buckets will be picked up at the end of the billing cycle, but the member must notify in writing within five (5) business days of the next statement date. There are no refunds for partial periods. Buckets must be returned or the payment on file will be charged the restocking fee of the cost of the bucket, lid, and shipping ($40 for 7 gallon buckets and $120 for 35 gallon cans).

Schedule: Bucket collection occurs Mon-Sun, depending on the route. If there is a day that works better for you, we will try to accomodate. If you will be out of town, send us an email and we can skip pick-up if necessary. Even if your bucket isn't full, we will take what you have. We will pick up rain or shine, but severe inclement weather, holidays, or emergencies may delay service with notification.
