WHEN IN DOUBT
General Rule: If it grew from the earth and isn't treated with chemicals, it can probably be composted!
If food waste were a country, it would be the 3rd largest greenhouse gas emitter in the world.
Food scraps make up only 24% of landfill waste—but create about 58% of landfill methane emissions. Composting keeps food out of landfills, returning nutrients to the soil instead of creating methane.
